LEE MORTIMER: Superstar Fidget Houser
LISTEN TO LEE'S JANUARY 2009 MIX
"Lee's one of the most exciting producers and DJs in the UK right now. You have to check him play... I don't think anyone can touch him for that sound at the moment." - Dave 'Switch' Taylor
Lee Mortimer has been steadily making waves with his productions and DJ sets by taking every opportunity to supply ears with exciting, sleazy electronic house music.
Having started with the humble Commodore Amiga before he was even a teenager, Lee has now firmly established himself as a top-notch recording artist and has had tracks and remixes on Dubsided, CR2, Front Room, Made To Play and his very own Wearhouse Music.
"Definitely a name to look out for this year" - Annie Mac
No prizes for guessing then that love for Lee's fidgety tracks has come from all corners of the dance music world. This includes support from Switch, Pete Tong (Who dubbed Lee's track 'Crazy' as "one of the largest tunes" at the WMC 2007), Claude VonStroke (who licensed 'Mush' for his ‘At The Controls' CD), Diplo, Dave Spoon, Crookers, Annie Mac, Jesse Rose, Paul Woolford, Micky Slim, Derrick Carter (featured 'When It Comes' on his Ministry of Sound Sessions CD) and loads more to boot!
Lee’s DJ-ing roots are in underground sweaty clubs and late nights. This motto has followed him wherever he has played including as far a field and San Francisco (EndUp), Chicago (Smart Bar) and Lithuania, plus all of the UK's top spots- Ministry Of Sound, Turnmills, 333, The Egg, Back To Basics, The Custard Factory etc
"Lee has taken hold of the UK sound perfectly and continues to bring quality, ground-breaking ideas & originality to the table. One to watch!" - Dave Spoon
Lee has been rewarded for his passion and hard work by being picked by Ministry of Sound to be their brand new Saturday Sessions resident. Lee now takes to the decks at the world renowned club every month alongside legends such as Trentemoeller, Pete Tong, Danny Howells, Sander Kleinenberg and Afrika Bambaataa.
He was also invited by BBC Radio 1 to perform on the Introducing stage at this summer’s Creamfields including a guest mix and interview on the In New Music We Trust show.
Now concentrating his efforts into his own label, Wearhouse Music, Lee has come into his own with his production creativity and A&R skills with12 releases under the Wearhouse Music belt- all getting majorly caned with support from Annie Mac, Jesse Rose, Laidback Luke etc.

MATT BRADDOCK
Whilst promoting his first night as a student back in April 2000, Matt caught the DJ bug and bought his first pair of decks, a nice and shiny brand new pair of Technics. The night, named ‘Euphoria’, attracted big name guests over it’s three year duration including Nick Warren, Danny Rampling, Seb Fontaine and Tall Paul.
In the summer of 2000, he met Mike Conaghan, promoter of Slide, a night that had begun in 1994 in Oxford but had ceased in 1998 due to a legal dispute. Slide had been established as Oxford’s only quality underground house night, with guests over that period including Carl Cox, X-Press 2 and the late Tony De Vit. Mike was keen to get things moving again. So in October 2000, Matt and Mike re-launched Slide in it’s new home of the Zodiac.
Resident and head honcho ever since, Matt has warmed up or followed many of the biggest DJs on the planet at Slide, including Radio Soulwax, Groove Armada, Simian Mobile Disco, James Zabiela, James Holden and many more.
Matt started to get bookings from all over the UK on the back of the success of Slide. He has played at some of the UK’s best club nights, including Chibuku Shake Shake in Liverpool; Mad Hatters at Basics in Leeds; Metripolis in Bath; The Egg, 333, The Key in London; and with Sancho Panza and Layo & Bushwacka at The End in London, as well as trips to Poland, Spain and Germany.
He has played at the Glade Festival for the last 3 years as well as further festival appearances at Wakestock, The Big Chill, Out To Graze and Latitude.
